*even a puppet deserves a day, a week or a season off. our puppet host Egdar dislocated his shoulder but, being a puppet, expects to have it back in place sooner than you think. look for some amazing new puppet music videos this summer, including the legendary composer Stephin Merritt on ukulele and god knows who else on what. at least, it will be good.

A world class guitar hero, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, an international recording artist with over a dozen acclaimed solo albums to date, and a soundtrack composer for film and television, Gary Lucas has peformed with a wide variety of distinguished artists including Lou Reed, Captain Beefheart and Jeff Buckley (with whom he co-wrote 'Grace' and 'Mojo Pin'). Here, joined by Edgar, Gary performs his song 'In a Forest' along with his own rendition of 'Let's Go Swimming' by Arthur Russell.

Kieran McGee released his first CD, which showed the insipient troubadourial talents of someone to be reckoned with, at the age of 15. And now in his tender 20s he's one of the purest truly talented singer-songwriters in the vibrant downtown New York music scene. Joined by Edgar, he performs one of his own compositions, 'Odessa', and together they give a fresh interpretation of the Carter Family song, 'Hello Stranger'.

Michael Leviton, a uniquely talented singer-songwriter and ukulele player, sings one of his best-known hits 'Summer's the Worst' with Edgar. Enjoy this cautionary tale of summer delight along with an intimate after-party puppet music mini-video of Devendra Banhart, Edgar and friends by the fireplace sharing the pleasures of a slightly bacchanalian 'Over The Rainbow'. Judy Garland never quite knew what to make of the rainbow but we hope that our uniquely matched troubadours do.
